We launched Taare with a simple “Buy 1 Give 1” promise – every pair sold meant a pair donated.

But as we listened to parents, teachers, and community partners, we heard a bigger truth: children’s needs stretch far beyond new shoes.

Their growth, confidence, and learning sometimes hinge on a sports‑camp fee, a school‑supply kit, or a health checkup. Those conversations reshaped our mission.

Today we channel a share of every sale into our Kids First Fund, a flexible pool that lets trusted local organizations decide what matters most for the kids they serve – whether that’s footwear, event sponsorships, or urgent essentials.

In the process, families that resell these shoes for a living are able to generate income and strengthen their community through sustainable entrepreneurship.

We wanted to do better.

For our own kids. And for children whose families lacked the resources to help them easily get through life.

We wanted parents to have one less thing to worry about. And we wanted them to have more time for their children.

So, we quit our corporate jobs to make life a little easier for families.

"Taare" (pronounced: Taa-ray) means stars in the Hindi language. We chose this name as it represents the limitless potential we see in every child.

We are based out of Washington state. The region's natural beauty inspired our brand's commitment to sustainability by extending the life of worn shoes.
